The Rose City gets friendlier than ever with the annual Portland Pride Festival and Parade, which accompanies LGBTQIA+ community celebrations all over town. Portland Pride normally includes a weekend festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park and an epic, joyous parade winding through downtown Portland.
The St. Pete Pride Parade starts at 6 p.m. with performers, vendors, artists, food stands and community partners holding events before and after. The entire festival runs from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Texas rainbow flag is derived from the state flag by replacing white and red fields by six rainbow colors. This is the third state gay flag in the USA, after those of Maryland and California, and is also another local gay flag which employs two shades of blue.
